News from Riverside Shopping Centre

It has been a while since we visited  Riverside Shopping Centre.  There have been several changes, listed in more detail below.

A new restaurant Soya Soul Restaurant, offering "Authentic Asian Fusion cuisine" (but no website) has replaced  Jintara Thai - Sushi - Dim Sum.  There is also now a Starbucks.

Upstairs, around half the shops have changed. There's a new, strangely-named day spa, VanQuish-Me. Also, the intriguing Veronica Anderson Jewellery (by appointment only, Dearie, we need to keep the riff-raff out). And a friendly kitchen and cupboard shop, Graylag & Co.

The former Riverside Fruit and Flowers has shrunk to a florist only, probably due to the competition from Woolworths.  The glorious patisserie, Chateau Gateaux, is still there.  As are the other two restaurants (Riverside Café, and Hello Tomato Italian restaurant).  The Secret Room (a shop so secret its former version had no entrance!) and Candice Berman fine Art Gallery survive.  The quaint Granny Goose duvets is now online only.

Although I hardly ever go into them (shame on me) it is good to see art galleries keeping going.  Thomarts Gallery moved a while ago from Morningside to Modderfontein, but a new gallery opened recently in Morning Glen Mall.

Do You Use Excel?  Making Mistakes is Easy!

Finding errors is hard! But they can kill your company! In 2012, a London Olympics employee accidentally typed in “20,000” instead of “10,000". The Olympic Committee then sold 10,000 tickets for non-existent seats at minor events. They had to upgrade them to major events —at a loss. Get this FREE report on preventing Excel mistakes..

Inspiration: Why Should We Fail More Often?

Our friend and mentor, Peter Carruthers, writes:

If you aren't reading Seth Godin each morning, please consider doing so.

His email today about how many projects Google kills is sobering reading.

More than once a month, they shut down a business that frightened the competition and seduced consumers. That's part of the recipe for becoming an unbeatable behemoth. Fail a lot.

Most of us fear failure so much that we don't even start. We want to start with a perfect solution. That cannot happen because perfect is a concept, not a reality.

I am the product of many more failures than successes. Nothing I ever did was perfect.

Yet everything I failed at led to something better.

The only failure in life is to give up trying. In my humble option.

Last week I created a bundle of training covering everything you need to prosper in business in SA.

  • More prospects.

  • More sales.

  • Better structures.

  • POPI Compliance.

I also added training on the exact process I use to earn the online income which has allowed me to live in England, Norway, Spain, and Canada. Online income lets you live anywhere.

One of the students who started last week already has her course and sales page set up.

Each of the courses in this bundle results from lots of failures you won't have to endure.

► Check out your package here. You will save 90% if you grab one of the five remaining coupons.

You get a six-month money-back guarantee. Just one sale of your work to anyone anywhere in the world will cover this investment.

Warm regards from Prince Edward Island [Peter gets around a bit!].
