Garden Apartment (Flat/Cottage) To Let

Fully Furnished and Serviced, To Let 1 May 2020 at R 9,000 per month all inclusive for one person, R10,000 for two.

(Note: For two students sharing, each pays half.  Add 10% to all rates if letting through an agent).

This is a Garden Apartment attached to the house at 126 Kelvin Drive, Morningside Manor (opposite Gary Avenue between Rivonia Road and Bowling Ave), Sandton.  It can be described as an attached cottage, a self-contained apartment, home-office, or a garden flat.  Either way, it is bigger than the average one-bedroom Sandton townhouse!  The accommodation is close to major taxi routes, the Sunninghill bus route, two Gautrain bus routes, and the future Rivonia Road BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) route.  Your accommodation would be in an up-market area of Johannesburg, close to the Rivonia and Woodmead office hubs and just a short trip from the Sandton CBD.

The flat has one large bedroom with en suite bathroom, big fully-equipped kitchen (microwave too!), open-plan split-level lounge and dining room, patio, and covered double carport.  It is fully furnished and serviced including laundry.  The apartment has its own garden and patio with table, umbrella and four chairs with cushions.  There is shared use of the swimming pond (cold at this time of year) and thatched lapa (entertainment area).  The property is particularly secure itself, and located in one of the safest parts of Johannesburg.

Whats Included?  Everything you need for a long and comfortable stay: Rates, electricity, water, gas, WiFi (free for reasonable use), washing and ironing twice a week, daily cleaning on weekdays, bed linen, towels, toilet paper, parking, burglar alarm system and armed response.

Optional Extras available by arrangement:  Breakfasts, dinners, internet access, faxing, scanning and printing facilities.  We can provide an extra single bed for tenants who prefer to sleep separately.

Daily Rate: For periods less than a few months we may be willing to negotiate a daily rate around R500/day, paid weekly in advance.  Please ask.

The Apartment is north-facing with large windows so it is sunny and bright even in winter.  It has its own entrance, a private portion of the garden and a patio with a table, umbrella and chairs with cushions. 

The Apartment has WiFi (free if used responsibly) and could be used as a home-office if you want to mix business with pleasure.

There is a separate burglar alarm system with armed response.  The grounds are fully enclosed by walls and a paling fence.  The driveway has a remote-controlled automated gate, for which controls are supplied.

We offer you a lease for a six-month or one year period, renewable.  The deposit is two month's rent, repayable within a week of departure.

You will enjoy your stay more if you like dogs and cats, as we have several of each and they like to visit.  No pets of your own are allowed except by prior arrangement, no feeding of ours, please, and no smoking indoors.  There are obligatory House Rules covering mainly energy conservation, recycling, noise and security.

Ideal Student Accommodation Location Relative to your School

For students of the International Hotel School in Sunninghill, we are a 5 km car trip away (or a minibus taxi ride plus a bit of a walk): Routes here (separate image).

Students at Varsity College in Waterstone Drive are only about 3.1 km away by minibus taxi or bus along Rivonia Road (cost about R7 per trip) plus a 1.5 km walk (Map from Megaplex to Varsity College).

Regenesys Business School in Sandton is 5.4 km south of us, with transport along Rivonia Road, including the Gautrain bus, Metrobus, PUTCO buses, and minibus taxis (Map from Megaplex to Regenesys). We are 390 m from Rivonia Road, which is a major transport route. The most luxurious transport, the Gautrain bus, runs to the Sandton Gautrain station, a 650 m walk from Regenesys. Along Rivonia Road also run Joburg Metrobus, PUTCO buses, and minibus taxis, with stops outside Sandton City, about 200 m from Regenesys. Fares per trip vary from about R20 for the Gautrain bus down to about R7 for minibus taxis.

The Health and Fitness Academy at Planet Fitness in Rivonia is 2.2 km away a quick jog if you are fit (which you must be to study there!), or by minibus taxi along Rivonia Road.
