Back to Sunninghill: The Core, this Time

A long-overdue visit to corner Leeuwkop and Kikuyu Roads, Sunninghill, Sandton, revealed many changes.  It was more a case of "who is still there"?

• Love the Look Clothing Studio
• RFC Development (after all, they own and manage the centre).

And that was about it.  Most of the departures and new arrivals are listed below.

The shopping centre operates largely in the daytime to cater to a large office component in the floors above ground level. The shops run largely to personal services (hair, nails, skin care, fitness) and food (several mainly daytime restaurants). An exception is the El Chapo Café which does breakfast and lunch and then converts to a high-energy dance club at night.

The centre seems to have had a chequered history (2011 article, 2014 Rezoning), but has put that behind it and is now well tenanted and patronised.

The entrance is in Leeuwkop Road corner Kikuyu Road, about a block south of The Square. From the N1 Western Bypass, take the Rivonia Road exit. Turn into Witkoppen Road eastbound. Cross the Sandspruit low-level bridge and then left onto Leeuwkop Road. The shopping centre will be on your left.

The centre is just up Leeuwkop Road from the Sunninghill informal taxi rank in Witkoppen Road.
