Pinnacle Walk Shopping Centre (formerly 90° on Rivonia)
Cor. Rivonia Road and Kelvin Drive in Morningside, eastern Sandton, Greater Johannesburg, South Africa.
Anchor tenants Spar and Spar Tops closed in early May 2022, leaving most of the
centre empty. There was a rumour that a Checkers might replace them, which
has finally become fact.
As at June 2023 the centre was being
partly demolished for a refurbishment. It had only two tenants
left, Steers/Fishaways and the Engen garage on the corner. After the long
revamp, it is good to see progress...
Yes, folks! As at 28 March 2024, Checkers is finally open! Lots of
opening specials for the Easter Weekend. The new Checkers is bigger than Spar
was, having also taken over the long-unused restaurant area to the left. That is
now the entrance, bakery, butchery and deli area. The supermarket area is
compact and light. They have, unusually for a supermarket, kept the big
glass windows that look out onto the car park. That is now the checkout
area, which also has express tills. This give a pleasant, open effect. The photo below was on
8 June.
There are NO ATMs in the centre.

Upper Level:
This section was demolished around June 2023. As of end March 2024 it is open
again after the revamp, but there are no shops here yet. There are stairs
and a (not yet working) lift. The Centre Toilets are up the stairs
and through the passage to the right.
Basement:
This is only accessible from outside, or from the upper level down a steel
fire escape at the end of the passage where the Centre Toilets are.
No shops here, but some extra parking.
